Dry herb vaporizers

Hi Everyone! Allow me to introduce myself. My name’s Mack and I have been working in a vape shop in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK) for the last 7 years. Aye, a real early adaptor so I’d like to think I have a decent enough idea when talking about vaporizers.

One of the biggest topics at the moment is the ‘battle’ between the Crafty or Mighty vaporizers by the highly renowned Storz & Bickel. Which is better? Well, I’ve owned both devices and I’m happy to say that I’d still happily use either whenever the need arises. But if I had to choose one? It would have to be The Mighty – and here’s why.

What Are You Looking For In A Dry Herb Vaporizer?

Obviously, the first thing you need to think about is how you intend on using your vaporizer. Are portability and stealth important to you, or can you make do with a larger unit that offers about two and a half times the battery life? In the first case, then maybe the Crafty might be the one for you. You could, of course, pick up a portable battery pack as well for say £50. That ought to be enough to allow for a couple of extra full charges. Bit of a faff, and knocks off the price differential in my opinion. But if that works for you, then you’re golden.

But for me, the Mighty is still the better product simply because it will last at least eight 12 minute sessions. That’s better than anything else currently available in the UK right now, and let me tell you as a daily dry herb vaper, it’s one factor that you simply cannot pay to ignore.

Having guests over? The Crafty will last maybe two and half dozen minute sessions before conking out. Not much of a party is it! Think of the Mighty more like a shisha pipe – it’ll last most people at least a couple of days without needing to charge it up (which it does in just a couple of hours – how neat is that!).

Something also worth thinking about it the pass-through capacity. Yes, the Crafty does offer that feature, but it needs at least a 20% charge to be able to do this. It’s a common mistake and one why a fair few people assume that theirs a fault with their model. That’s unfortunately just a limitation in the design.

Crafty vs Mighty – Which Performs Better?

As for performance, you’d to be a real nit-picker to choose much between them. This is the reason why these are without any doubt the two high-performance dry herb vapes on the market.

Both use outstanding conduction and convection heating systems, offer the same chamber size and vapor pathways. All this leads to tremendously enjoyable vaping. Both also work great regardless of the amount you have filled your tank – and that in my opinion is one of the crucial factors when choosing from amongst the best dry herb vaporizers.

The Mighty still wins though. Why? It has a larger cooling unit that delivers a slightly cleaner and crisper vape. I told you I wasn’t a nit-picker!

Call me old fashioned, but I like to be able to control my vape exactly as I like by using the buttons and LED display on the unit itself.

I honestly don’t quite get this recent reliance on Bluetooth apps – I mean, what if you don’t have your phone on you? The Mighty offers an easy to use control panel that is way superior to that on the Crafty. Of course, this may not be an issue if you are happy with your settings, but it’s something that is handy to have.

Make no mistake, there’s going to be plenty of folk out there who the Crafty will work perfectly for. It’s a cracking little device. But for the points outlined above, the Mighty is the real deal and offers a better daily use for the highest proportion of dry herb vapers.
